It can take an awfully long time to fully discover what your worth is when everything around you is showing or telling you different. Life can be full of negativity at times which may distract you from knowing yourself.
There will be obstacles during times in your life and you think to yourself “what is the point?”, but a good majority of the time, these obstacles will make you a step closer to finding your worth as they will help you learn about your tolerance, boundaries, what you deserve or do not deserve. However, it does depend on how you handle your set backs especially when you in a Caribbean and African culture it is very important to know your worth and who you are.
However, it does depend on how you handle your set backs especially as an Afro-Caribbean there seems to be a lot more of these that come our way as a group of people in the societies we find ourselves in. It is very important to know your worth and who you are as an individual due to society disguising us to be something that we are not most of the time.
Nowadays it seems to be the norm to not show love and become disloyal to our partner by cheating or having numerous “side girl or man” and being half-hearted and selfish towards people around us. This is what is being portrayed in our society and generation as the new “normal“, it is not. We are better off knowing the worth of ourselves and others around us and treating them as we would like to be treated.
Knowing your worth is an essential thing to do in our journey through life. When we find ourselves, we can discover what our purpose is and know what we want to do with our lives. We can subsequently influence and encourage people in a remarkable way and help people who doubt themselves and find themselves in unexplainable situations. Knowing your worth does not just help yourself but also, the people around you.
